All right, first and foremost, this is a tutorial specially made for Adobe PhotoShop 5 (thankiesfor the help Exie!). However, as I've learned from expiriencebefore I 'aquired' Adobe, that these can be 'tweaked' to workfor other programs. This particular tutorial I'm not to sure aboutthough, this uses Layers! Ooooooh what a wonderful thing Layersis....... erm........ okay enough of that
Every computer artist hasfound this out the hard way....... Computer Coloring drawingsthat are only pre-scan documents because you didn't have enoughtime to do the full scanning process or drawings that areare alreadycolored with pens, pencils, markers, ect. is pure hell. Here'sa way that will make everything easier (though it may not seemlike it at first). This saves a lot of time in the long run, whenyou get teh hang of it. Okay, shall we get started then?
Step One: Layering...
Herewe have your somewhat good basic duck drawing attacked by a coloredpencil job. Shouldda used yer Prismas Em...... tsk tsk tsk. Okay, you get the idea.
Now, we shall go to Layer>New>Layer. In the Name box give the layer whatever name you want. Here'sthe tricky part... In Opacity, you want to put in 80%, not 100%.Got it? Good. Next, from our nice little color pannel we shallchoose a dark blue, and useing the paintbrush (which you can setto 100% opacity), go over the whole drawing. Now, if you've donethis right, it should look something like this. If not...... erm.......try again.
Beholdthe blueness! Okay, now we do another Layer>New>Layer. Again, name it whatever the hey you want..... but this time we want itto be 100% opacity, so make sure that's what it's set to.
