Weapons
Calista, being a former assassin, is quite proficient with most weapons. Her favorite was the saber, but now uses an alternate and less deadly weapon, an extendable bo staff. It works on the same principle as a saber, shrinking to a compact one foot when not in use, and extending a full five feet when she needs it. She feels very at ease without a weapon as well, practising a fluid martial art. Anything can become a weapon in her hands, however, she deeply regrets her earlier life as an assassin, and is reluctant to kill anyone, avoiding it at all costs.
History
Calista does not like to talk about her life with the Tier, so she has volunteered very little information about her past. However, more and more of it has slipped out over time. She was brought into the Tier as an infant was before she left she was told how. Her Father was marked for death by the Tier, why is not known at this time. However... no one was allowed to see a member of the guild and live, or the assassin himself must die. Kiron Vayu was overseeing this nights work, by a younger assassin. He failed, allowing Calista's mother to escape, with a supposed mortal wound. For reasons unknown, Kiron kept from going after Cali's mother, quickly and cleanly ending the life of the failed assassin intending on returning directly to the Tier, before her heard the cry of a baby.
He was intrigued by the little girl, and her eyes, reasoning that she had not seen the death of her parents. He was childless, and likely to remain so, he brought her with him, and raised her as he would a Daughter. He chose her name, Calista..most lovely. And later on, gave her the name of Acarya, spiritual teacher, because her life and spirit gave him much rest. Kiron tried to protect her the best he could, through waring factions in the Tier, one without Honor, and one with. He was a Master in his art, and brought her under his wing as his apprentice, in order to keep her alive. To his partial dismay, she excelled, never questioning the right to kill, never quite understanding that it was wrong. She had been surrounded by it her whole life.. Her Master has taught her to do it, how could it be wrong? Until her eighteenth year. She was to kill a father, an innocent, for no reason then to prove her final loyalty to the Tier. Kiron watched her as her will to kill left, the enormity of what she been doing her whole life sinking in on her, and followed her as she left..his misson the same as it had been almost two decades before... To end the life of a young assassin that had failed in her duty.
He did not kill her, instead he watched as she threw away the saber she had used for killing, and felt joy that she had come to this decision on her own. Kiron found her, and told her of her family, how she had entered the Tier, and how he'd tried to protect her, keeping her alive. His pride in her choosing life... He let her go then, as a fugitive, and prayed she would survive, but he now became the hunted, instead of the hunter and went into hiding himself, beliving that he had discovered a horrible truth about the Tier. A few weeks later the saurian invasion hit. Calista did not find Kiron again, and most think him dead, but she does not give up hope that he may be alive, or that her mother might be.
But she may never know.. after Canard's strike team disappeared after Dragaunus, The Tier began actively searching for Calista again. And she grew tired of running, finally confronting the one sent to kill her. She fought, still unwilling to kill... but realized she would, for her own life. And she did, as the other assassin tried to escape, using a Saurian transporter. Calista delivered the killing blow as her hand closed around the teleporter, jarring the settings. She disappeared, getting pulled through a portal, landing on Earth, but thankfully a distance away from the Raptor, instead of inside, thanks to the messed up coordinates.
She keep the secret of the teleporter to herself, afraid of what the others reactions might be. And in the hope that she can go back and search for Kiron one day. But the point is moot, as it's broken, tho she does not know that yet.
