Description: A tough-guy mercenary and veteran of many battles, the expedition's commander is not a man to cross. He was second in his class at West Point. Rourke joined the US Army at 15, where his intelligence and bravery gained him rapid promotion through the ranks. His ruthlessness is legendary - in 1881 he was disciplined for excessive use of force at the Battle of Wounded Knee. He retired from the army in 1901 and eventually embarked on a career with the British Museum, leading expeditions to foreign lands to retrieve priceless artifacts, including the Shepherd's Journal.
